The Dashboard Concept - An Approach to the Post-2015 Development Agenda by Colombia and Guatemala
In their "Dashboard Proposal" the governments of Colombia and Guatemala envisage the post-2015 development agenda as being designed around a nucleus of common global goals measured by a set of internationally agreed-on targets and indicators which would be accompanied by more specific targets and indicators geared to national circumstances and priorities.
Advocating a balanced equilibrium between a top-down and bottom-up approach, the Colombian and Guatemalan governments are in favour of giving countries more leeway in the achievement of global minimum standards which are to be determined by the new Sustainable Development Goals. Apart from enhancing cooperation, capacity building, and the exchange of experiences, this design would also contribute to improved comparability and aggregation as well as to greater coherence between the different levels.
