On 11 & 12 September, the President of the UN General Assembly convened a High Level Stocktaking Event on the Post-2015 development agenda. The purpose of the event was to provide an overview of the post-2015 processes and consultations, which will feed into the highly influential UN Secretary General's synthesis report (to be presented in late December). In particular, the purpose of the event was to:
- Reflect on key messages from all high-level events, thematic debates and formal dialogues of the 67th session of the General Assembly.
- Discuss key outcomes from Rio+20 processes, including the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals, the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing.
- Bring attention to external processes that influence the design of the post-2015 development agenda
- Bring attention to lesser known UN processes that influence the design of the post-2015 development agenda, such as the UN Environmental Assembly (UNEA) and the Annual Ministerial Review
