Post-2015 High-Level Stocktaking Event: 8-9 September

In preparation for the negotiation phase of the post-2015 development agenda, scheduled for the 69th General Assembly (September 2014-September 2015), a concept note for a High-Level Stocktaking Event has been released by the President of the General Assembly. At the event (8-9 September), the President of the General Assembly will provide his summary of the post-2015 processes and consultations, which will feed into the UN Secretary General's synthesis report on the post-2015 development agenda.

In particular, the purpose of the event is to:

  • Reflect on key messages from all high-level events, thematic debates and formal dialogues of the 67th session of the General Assembly.
  • Discuss key outcomes from Rio+20 processes, including the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals, the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing,
  • Bring attention to external processes that incflunece the design of the post-2015 development agenda
  • Bring attention to lesser known UN processes that influence the design of the post-2015 development agenda, such as the UN Environmental Assembly (UNEA) and the Annual Ministerial Review
