The Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF), together with the Finnish Government hosted a multi-stakeholder consultation on “Co-creating new Partnerships for Financing Sustainable Development”, that took place in Espoo, Finland April 3-4. The event was attended by representatives from governments, private sector, the UN and a number of civil society representatives.
The Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals held its 10th session from March 31-April 4 at the UN Headquarters in New York. The five day meeting sought to create more focused preferences, as stated throughout 'a year-long stocktaking period', to produce a report on preferred SDGs and targets. During the session Major Groups and other stakeholders commented and gave feedback on a revised list of 19 Focus Areas, possible targets relating to each (based on discussions at OWG-9 in March) and discussed ways of going forward for its last three sessions.
A compendium of targets and indicators has been compiled by the UN technical support team to inform the deiliberations of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals. The compilation consists of existing goals and targets which relate to the 19 Focus Areas being considered by the OWG on SDGs.
In order to inform the deliberations of the tenth session of the Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals, Stakeholder Forum along with 16 global partners have compiled a report of goals and corresponding targets from proposals housed within the SDGs e-Inventory which relate to the 19 focus areas identified by the OWG Co-Chairs.
Each of the nine United Nations Major Groups has produced a position paper on issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
